Legal Question in Family Law in California

Adoption

Is it possible to get custody back for a child who's been adopted out. For instance my son was adopted by my sister, she has legal custody of him.

I was in prison so my parental rights where taken from me.

Re: Adoption

There is a 3 year statute of limitations to set aside an adoption that may apply in your case. Also, it is possible that that period would be extended by another 2 years because you were in prison. The more quickly you act, the more likely it is you will be successful.
