Legal Question in Family Law in California
Adoption issue...
I have a 3 months old baby, and my boyfriend doesn't have any responsibility for his child. Now i'm being a low-income single mom. Seeing my situation, my oldest sibling and her husband offer to adopt the baby. The thing is that they live in Vietnam and we live in America. I don't know how the process could be. And if the baby is adopted, is she still able to come to the U.S? Please give me some answers that help me go through all the paperworks regarding to my case.

This question should be referred to an attorney that has experience with international adoption. Unless the father relinquishes his parental rights there will be no adoption. Also it would seem that if the child is adopted by residents of Vietnam, that the child would become a resident Vietnam and would no longer be a US resident. However, the answer would depend on the laws of Vietnam and any agreement between the two countries.
