Legal Question in Family Law in California

Adoption of minor

Ready for this one?? My wife and I divorced 5 years ago, she had brought a daughter into the marriage. We are recently reconciled, but not yet married (again). I still wish to adopt her daughter and parental rights to the father were revoked over 10 years ago. Can I adopt her daughter even though she and I are not yet married agian? Can we both be legal parents to her even though we are not yet again married?

Re: Adoption of minor

It is my understanding that you cannot adopt a child unless you have been married 1 year.
