Legal Question in Family Law in California

adoption

Can a person have themselves equitably adopted if the parent has been dead for 3 years? If so what forms would I start with. Do have alot of evidence to support a family relation ,raised by person from a tender age, there was a legal barrier however he died 20 years ago.

Re: adoption

I never heard of such a process. It seems unlikely as both the child, if of age, and the parents have to agree. The parents must also sign an agreement to take the child as their own for all purposes. The dead proposed parents are not available to sign such an agreement.
