Legal Question in Family Law in California
Adult Adoption
I would like to know how to go about adopting another adult.
The proposed adoptee was my foster child for 8 years and is now 29 years old.
Both of his natural parents are deceased, although he does have several siblings who are still living.
My husband and I would like to legally adopt him and he is in complete agreement.

Re: Adult Adoption
Adult adoptions are the easiest adoptions to do. Get a petition to Adopt from the internet or court house and check adult adoption. It is a preprinted judicial counsel form There is no investigation fee, no homestudy required and you do not need any consents( from parents) other than the person you are adopting. Quick and easy. Some attorneys or paralegals will fill out the paperwork for you for a small fee (couple Hundered dollars) and let you finish it yourself.
Re: Adult Adoption
This is not a very difficult task. Get help from your local county adoption agency (if they will give you help) or buy a book on how to do it. Check my site at www.sbdivorcelawyer.com for legal resources (i.e. links & forms).
