Legal Question in Family Law in California

adult child's rights

My brother died when he was 29. He

fathered a daughter when he was

approximately 20 though daughter's

mom did not tell her til several years

ago who her biological dad was.The

daughter, now 39, has just now

contacted me wanting to know about

her biological father. I responded

right away via letter/ photos. My

friends are suspicious and wonder if

she is entitled to any of our ''family''

money/property. My brother had

none when he died.

Re: adult child's rights

You should consult with an attorney regarding the facts of your circumstances. Without a complete review of the facts and the assets, which you would not want to detail on the internet, it is not possible to answer your question.
