Legal Question in Family Law in California

at what age can a child legally change who they want to live with?

I live in CA, I have two daughters, both of whom I've had since 2001 divorce. Joint custody but I am primary, they go to their dad's every other weekend. Recently 13 yr old daughter decided she wants to live with dad and moved in with him. Is there an age at which a child can legally say ''I want to go live with [the other parent]''?

The court will consider the wishes of the child at all ages, however, the older the child the more consideration that a judge will consider their desires. The desire of a 13 year old would be given strong consideration. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
