Legal Question in Family Law in California

Age of consent

If I get emancipated does that mean that i am also considered to be at the age of consent? I can't be with someone because he's 20 and i'm 17. I practically take care of myself and feel like an adult anyways, but the age law is still there :(

Re: Age of consent

To be emancipated a judge has to sign the order. Based on you statement it does not seem likely that the judge will sign the order of emancipation. The age of consent for sex is separate from the age for being able to enter into contracts etc.
