If one agrees to be executor of a will-should they be paid something?

friend agreed but lawyer claims he wasn't aware of any such

practise-most money goes to the actor's fund of cal.-would they

know?- thank you-

It is not a legal requirement that the executor of a will be paid, and some wills have been executed by people acting pro bono. But don't expect an executor to work for free, either, and it can be declined.
