Legal Question in Family Law in California

alamony

I've been divorced 14 years and my child support is about to end and my exwife is threatning alamony because she never recieved any. I have never remarried but she's been married 4 or 5 times. Can she come back at me and get alamony?

Reply: alamony

In a general sense, once your former wife remarries, the court that divorced you has no jurisdiction to order you to pay her alimony.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances and your specific divorce decree, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
