Recently went through a divorce

I owe my attorney money.....I settled with my ex spose fore 60000.00 alimoney I have received 15ooo.oo I am due to get 15000.00 I owe my attorney 24000.00. I have to ld my attorney I will give him half of the 15000.00 in december when i get it. there isn't anything in writing that he will get the whole thing, yes i know i owe him the 24 but i need some of the money to live. can he put a motion to take the whole thing

Re: alimoney

An attorney fee agreement will usually specificy their ability to take a lien on any judgement you receive.

At a minimum this is a breach of contract situation.
