Legal Question in Family Law in California

alimony

My ex's attorney just asked me to make a deal with him to terminate my spousal support....do I agree considering I won't be done with my career goals until 2010 and that I have custody of my daughter along with being a full time stuent, and that he abused me during the marriage where he caused emotinal distress through domestic violence.

No one can answer that question for you. First insufficient information is included. Second an attorney can advise you as to the law and potential consequences of each option. Then the decision is up to you. As a general rule waiving spousal support is not advisable unless the waiving spouse has subtstantial assets or income.
