Legal Question in Family Law in California

Alimony lump sum payment

My ex-husbands attorney gave my attorney a cashier's check for alimony lump sum payout in my name and my attorneys name. Now my attorney wants me to sign it before he does so he can take his fee before giving me the rest. Is there anything I can do about this? I have always paid him.
