Re: Alimony

Spousal support is based upon income. If Husband makes more than you he may be ordered to pay temporary support based on a formula. There is a family law facilitator at the courthouse that can run the computer program for you. You may seek support to continue after the divorce is final based upon your situation rather than a formula but it is unlikely to be granted in that you were only married for 3 years. You may want to propose a lump sum settlement in return for a waiver of spousal support. An attorney can help you to prepare a marital settlement agreement which also asks him to pay a reasonable amount for your attorney fees.
