The general rule is you will pay for one half of the length of the marriage, or three years. However, every case is unique and so could be longer, could be shorter. If your spouse is totally disabled, it could be for life. If your spouse is capable of obtaining employment with income substantially equal to yours, it could be for a few months. Depends on your spouses need for support and your ability to pay support. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
