Legal Question in Family Law in California

alimony

Married 16 years. I am on SSDI and planning on filing for divorce (California) . I have heard that my husband intends on moving to Florida to escape paying alimony. Is it true that I can't collect alimony (If awarded) if he moves to Florida?

Re: alimony

File for divorce before he moves from California and obtain an order for the payment of spousal support. A California spousal support order is enforceable in Florida or any other state.
