Legal Question in Family Law in California

Alimony

Am I required to put in my divorce agreement that when I become engaged I am required to tell him. If you are engaged, may that be a basis for terminating support. I am not planning on it, but I want to cover all my basis.

Re: Alimony

Remarriage terminates spousal support. Cohabiting with a person of the opposite gender raises a presumption of a reduced need for spousal support. Being engaged does not normally result in a reduction of spousal support. However, if such a provision is included in the judgment you would have to abide with that provision.
