Legal Question in Family Law in California

Alternating Custody

My ex-husband and I have two children, ages 8 and 7. I currently live in Colorado with my husband and 3 year old daughter. My ex-husband lives in California which is where this case remains by jurisdiction. The two children currently reside with me during the school year and visit him during the summer months and school holidays. My ex-husband has just recently informed me that he is going to go back to court to modify custody. He is seeking to have the children put on a year-on year-off custody schedule. I feel this would be detrimental to our children and their stability in life. Is there any case law or case studies that could help me?

Re: Alternating Custody

You can ask the court to move jurisdiction for the case to Colorado because it is the children's home state. Generally Colorado courts oppose the type of arrangement he is seeking.
