i would like to be amancipated/adopted by a different family.
my name is and my parents are divorced they are both alcholics and my dads abusive to me. he makes me do everything and my mom doesnt understand me or even care about me. I have spoken to my mothers roomate who is 62 and she is raising my best friend who is my age and they are moving to Arizona over the summer and i would like to get amancipated or adopted by her grandmother. this way i know i am with someone safe and trustworthy who doesnt drink and doesnt take me for granit. will u please write me back with things that i can do to be able to move in with them so that i am with a family that i trust! thank you!

You need to resubmit your question and include your age. To be emancipated you would have to have a way to support yourself and and be close to 18 years old. As for being adopted your parents would have to consent to that and that would appear to unlikely. Having this lady appointed as your gurardian will be a lengthy process. If you really as abused as you say talk to a school counselor about your situation. The school counsleor must report suspected chidl abuse. In some counties being alcoholics is sufficient for CPS to find child abuse.
