Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am American, my unmarried partner is French. Our daughter was born in the US. We moved to France a year ago and my partner now shows clear sign excluding me from his financial transactions and acquisitions. In case we break up, what would the French court do in rewarding custody? What is the chance that I will be able to keep my child? I no longer have a stable income while he is a French "fonctionnaire". Does he automatically have child custody rights if he can provide for my daughter better than I can financially?

You should repost this in the French jurisdiction. I have not idea what France would do in one of their cases. All that I know is that they have the Napoleonic Code and surrender a lot.
