Is annulment a better option in this case.

Got married under false pre-tenses 3.5 yrs.ago, and discovered spouse also is an alcohol abuser and recently did a violent act against me, almost taking my life. I've filed a TRO etc. Is annulment advantageous? Also how are purchased items dealt with (exm.rings). No children.

It is unlikely that you can get an annulment of your marriage. Alcohol abuse etc are not grounds for an annulment. The marriage was valid and the property will be treated as provided by community property law.
