I have submitted a petition for
annulment with the superior court in
CA and would like to change the action
to Petition for disolution of marriage,
what paperwork do I need and what is
that action called?

If a response has not been filed, you should be able to file an amended petition. If a response has been filed then you would the respondent would have to agree or you will have file a motion to amend you petition.
