Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can one appeal a decision by a family judge regarding child Support

I feel I have been wronged by the judge in calculating child support. A salary was imputed for my husband who allegedly has been laid off. The judge halfed the amount of child support because my ex has decided to accept a job making half of what he is capable of. If yes, where can I appeal? (alameda county).

The judge has wide latitude in exercising his or her discretion in weighing the facts and setting his attributed income. You could file an appeal with the court of appeal. To suceed on appeal you must show that the judge abused the exercise of discretion. That essentially means that no reasonable judge could make the same decision.
