Legal Question in Family Law in California

I had applied for a California state welfare program a couple of months ago, and I found out that they opened up a child support case against my son\'s father because of the fact I was applying for state aid for myself and my son. He is a very good father and we both work together to take care of him, we basically split expenses. Is there any way I can have this case closed or dismissed?

The county will close the case if you make the request. That will not solve your problem. The county will want reimbursement for the aid that has been paid. Unless you made a complete disclosure to of fathers involvement, both in time and other sharing, you may have more serious problems than the child support case against the father of your child. Consult with an attorney regarding your status prior to taking any action. You must be completely honest with the attorney to get the best possible advice.
