Legal Question in Family Law in California

Arrears Child Support Order

My ex-husband was sporratically paying c/s over a period of 3 years. The est arrears was $17K - $20K. The difference is either in going w/court orders or actual physical custody. My son has remained with me while my daughter has moved between the two of us based on her father's lack of visitation while living with me. The Judge ordered that my daughter basically was with him the entire time - so untrue - and reduced his arrears to $7K which I deem to be unlawful. Do I have a right of appeal? His attorney is well-known and has been less than truthful during the entire divorce process. My confusion is the unlawful acts by the Judges. I was under the impression laws were meant to be followed and, if precedent has not been set, I'd like to do so. Thank you.

Re: Arrears Child Support Order

Your time to appeal the judges decision is short. It is possible for the judge to refuse to enforce child support arrears. If you have not had an attorney now is the time (although it may be too late) to get a consultation with an attorney who handles child support. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
