Legal Question in Family Law in California
Arrested in Family Court?
I found out today that I have an active warrant out for my arrest (the notice came in the mail) for failure to appear on a misdemanor case in Central Court. The warrant was issued less than a week ago and I intend to make an appearance in this matter as soon as possible.
The problem is that I also have a pending family case hearing scheduled for tomorrow. This means that 'as soon as possible' will probably happen the day after my family case hearing.
Will I be arrested in family court? And if so, how can I get out of this bind without going to jail?

Maybe you should continue the family law case until you clear up the criminal matter.
Re: Arrested in Family Court?
I have not heard of someone being arrested in family law court on a minor outstanding misdemeanor warrant unless it had to do with a restraining order. However, what you should do is hire an attorney to go to court for you (today, if you can) to recall the warrant. If you have an attorney, and if you are going in to recall the warrant this quickly after it was issued, most likely the court will recall the warrant without your presence. Then, you can go to court tomorrow on your family law matter without worrying about it.
