Legal Question in Family Law in California

I asked for a wage assignment in my divorce agreement thinking that it would be a benefit to me. Now that the wage assignment has been put into action I find that my ex husbands employer does not have to follow the court order to pay out in 24 payments (1st and 15th of every month) because they pay out in 26 payments per year. This reduces my monthly payments by $220 per month for 10 months of the year. I also found out that the child support money has to go from the employer to the state and then I get the money! I am living on such a tight budget that I cannot afford this arrangement and I was not advised by my attorney that this would be the case. Am I able to file paperwork to reverse the wage assignment so that my ex can go back to paying me on the 1st and the 15th of every month like the court order states?

It would be better to modify the wage assignment order so you are getting the correct per month payment ordered by the court.
