assests,how to file , how much time before court do i have?.
im am the rrespondent, and i filed my papers and noticed that i want to change my pleade on assets i want 1/2 of my husbends pension i only have like 7 days till court how?or what can i do?.

No attorney can tell you what you must do without seeing the papers that have been filed. See an attorney, now! If all else fails tell the judge at trial you want one half of the pension, the judge will probably divide the pension, if it is community property. If the judge does not divide the pension, it is an omitted asset and the court may still have jurisdiction to divide the pension at a later date. You will need a Qualified Domestic Relations Order to divide the pension. Many family law attorneys do not prepare them, so I don't see how you will get by without an attorney on this one, unless his attorney is very cooperative. (Don't be to surprised, many family law attorneys take try to resolve the issues simply rather than drawing out the litigation) Good Luck, Pat McCrary
