assets
if i file for divorce and during the proccss buy a home would my wife have claim to it

First, while the divorce is pending there are automatic restraining orders in place against such transactions, unless you have your wife's written consent or a court order. Second, of course your wife will have a claim. But her claim will win or lose based upon the source of monies used for the purchase -- are they community or separate property?
