Legal Question in Family Law in California

attorney dropping me

I have spent about $11,000.00 on an attorney. We attended a settlement conference, and the final filing date for my attorney to file the final settlement judgement, per settlement conference instructions and discovery is February 28, 2008. I called to her attention her lack of interest in my case and she said she is dropping me. Can she do this? She wants me to go to her office and sign a Substitution of Attorney form, this would make it look like I dropped her. What form is she sopposed to give me, so that I have proof that she dropped me this close to final judgement day?

Re: attorney dropping me

If she has a lack of interest in your case why would you want her to continue?
