Attorney Fees

I have been with the same attorney for over 6 months, working on a custody issue (and a separate ''criminal'' matter). I have been paying on both matters separately. I just recently received a bill for the criminal matter which lists ''interest on overdue balance''. Can an attorney charge ''interest''?

Yes. Check your retainer agreement. That said, you can also ask him to waive the charge as well. Everything is negotiable. Good luck-Martin
