Legal Question in Family Law in California

attorney trust account

I had an attorney regarding a divorce and during the case I was ordered by the court to put $5,000.00 into a trust account with my attorney since then my attorney has droped me as a client and has the trust account listing him as the truste. I am now in desperate need of money, soon to be evicted from my appartment with 2 children (ex is not paying support as ordered). Is there any way to get this money released due to a hard ship? If so what do I need to do? I can not afford an attorney.

Re: attorney trust account

As long as the trust fund is still has funds from your unused case you would be able to get the return of those funds. I would simply ask him if there are any funds left over to please return them.

Always consult with a lawyer in your area prior to making legal decisions. Good luck!
