Attorneys fees not yet incurred

I was ordered to pay $5000 in attorneys fees of the mother of my child. at the time of the judgment, she had only incurred about $2800 in fees. is it legal for me to be ordered to pay attorneys fees not yet incurred, and how long to i have to appeal?

Yes. It is quite common for the court to order the parent with the greater assest to pay the other parent's attorney fees.
