Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was awarded my home in my 2006 divorce here in calif. I am now trying to sell, and the title company won't close escrow until my ex signs an "interspousal deed?" He didn't show up to sign, so I need to know what papers to serve him to take him back to court to have him sign. Thanks

Check with a family law attorney in your area. Probably you can get the court to appoint the court clerk as an "elisor" to sign off on the deed in place of your ex. It is SOP in our county and can be done in about 2 business days but every county is different. I don't think a pro per could do it unless you can find the forms on line. Call around, attorneys could cost anywhere from $250 to several thousand. If you get an experience family law attorney they should know how to do it. If they don't know what an elisor is find another attorney. Get back to me if withthe county your judgment it entered in there is a problem.
