Baby birth certificate

if a mother is not sure who the father of her child will be and doesnt put his name on the birth certificate when the baby is born, but later finds out who the father is, can the birth certificate be changed with the name of the father

I don't believe a birth certificate can be changed or amended. The father will have to sign either a voluntary declaration of parentage or a court will have to provide a judgment that he is the father.
