Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a baby, not even a year old yet and the Father who lives out of State wants me to allow her to fly there and visit for monthes at a time?? We were never married and we have no court orders. She has lived with me her whole life in California and I am uneasy about her leaving so far with her Father who she barely knows. He has came to visit her here in California a total of 16 days broken up over a couple visits. He is not a bad guy but we definently dont see eye to eye on a number of things. I have went and got papers from the Court House to file for Custody of my daughter and did bring it to his attention but he is not cooperative and says we dont need to involve the courts. I disagree because I think she is too young to go so far with him, I have no clue where he lives but I do know its with a woman I know nothing about. He does have a job in which his hours prevents him from having much time with her, so I wonder who will have my baby while hes at work. In which he answers that its none of my buisness!! Im confused as what to do and what questions he has to answer (ie:wheres she sleeps, who will be babysitting, what type of overall environment shes in). Please help and let me know a general answer to some of my questions. I understand the process of custody and that answers vary from case to case but Id like to know something I should be prepared for so I have some sort of understanding. Keep in mind she is 10monthes and I live in CA he lives in TX, he IS on the Birth Certificate and we were NEVER married!! Thanks

Your best approach is to file and serve your California paternity petition with a motion for custody ,visitation and support.
