Back child support for an adult child

We have never received any court required child support and at this time are in need of support for the 40 year old daughter. Is it too late to persue this. Thecourt ordered support was ordered in the 70's. Thank you.

The law regarding the collection of child support that accrued years ago is unclear. However, if the daughter is disabled you may be able to get child support for her. Also if she is disabled you should contact the social security office and enquire about disability payments for her.
