Legal Question in Family Law in California

Going back to work

My daughter has been on social security disability for three years. She is a single Mom and has been receiving court ordered child support, of six hundred per month, for her child age 5 years.

She is going back to work as an RN in the near future. She was wondering how much the father (or if he can) reduce the child support if she goes to work?. Is there a formula? of some sort?

As an Rn, she can make 50k to 60k a year or more. Thank you Any informatioin will be very helpful. Augie

Re: Going back to work

Child support is generally based on dad's income, mom's income, the number of children and the amount of time the child(ren) is/are with each parent. To calculate the amount requires the use of an accepted computer program. This program can be accessed either at the local family court, for free, or there are some sites on the internet that provide this program for a fee.
