Legal Question in Family Law in California

baptism

Does the husband who has 50/50 custody with exwife, have the right to deny exwife to attend sons baptism on his day? She does not believe or practice the faith and causes much friction between families.

Re: baptism

If the baptism is being conducted at a church I would think that you would be rather presumptous to suggest that the child's mother could not be present. She must have consented to the child being baptised in your faith. This happy occasion might be a good opportunity for you to extend an olive branch. I would not only invite her but I would sit with her and your child. Any of your family that are expected to attend should be advised that she is to be treated with courtesy and respect on this occasion despite whatever history there has been.
