Legal Question in Family Law in California

What are the basics of emacipating yourself?

I would like to know the basics of emancipating yourself from your parents. i.e. A teenager who is in a bad situation at home and is basically providing everything for him/herself. How would a teenager go about emancipating themselves from their parents. What kind of requirements are there and how do I go about the process?

The main requirement is that you be self supporting. The state doesn't want you to be on welfare. Your parents are supposed to support you. So if you can support yourself you can usually become emancipated. See my web site at www.sbdivorcelawyer.com for more information. Good luck. Michael Gray
