Legal Question in Family Law in California

Who does it belong to?

I married a woman who had a house that was her separate property. Since the marriage, we have had the house re-financed twice and my name was added to the title. We have purchased another home. Now we are getting a divorce and she is wanting to keep both houses and the equity in both of them. I signed a document called a statement of trust regarding the first house, but nothing with legal information regarding me and my understanding of my rights being waived. It was notarized. But my understanding is that a contract between two people must be signed by both parties. Bottom line, she wants everything. Is our first home considered community property because I am on the title or separate because she owned it before the marriage and I was added as principal title holder?

Sorry to be so harsh, but what the hell are you doing looking for free answers on the internet. You stand to lose a significant amount of money if you don't haul your cheap but to an attorney who knows what they are doing. The amount you spend on getting proper representation will be the best investment you ever made. You own a large portion of the equity in these homes - there is no way for me to determine how much without a lot more information. Don't try to save a penny to lose dollars. The fee can come out of the settlement
