Legal Question in Family Law in California
biforcated divorce
in a biforcated divorce can some of the financial issues be settled and some remain unsettled? If some are settled is the decision surrounding those items final or when the remainder of the financial issues are settled can the settled portion be disputed? ie. settling personal assets and equity of house but not deciding on division of business assets, child support and alimony.

While you can resolve a portion of the issues without resolving all issues, you should be careful in doing that and only resolve a portion of the issues with the advice of an attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

You can resolve a portion of the issues and get a judgment re same, which presumably would include termination of marital status, "reserving to the court" other specified issues.
