Legal Question in Family Law in California

Bifurcation Issues

In bifurcation proceedings relative to my gaining Single Head of Household Status and purchasing my own home - LA Sup. Court Pomona - other than not using comm. property for home purchase, what may be some potential reasons for denial by the court? Ex served me original petition on 6 Dec 02 and legal separation date is 30 Nov 02. We had settlement conference in Apr 03 and agreed to everything but her side has not followed up with final judgement. Property settlement is of no consequence to me except a few tools and a stereo. Married for 33 years I have met all support requirements since separation.

I have seen a bifurcation request denied on a long term marriage where health insurance was the issue and the reason for the denial. Knowing which bench officer would be deciding this issue would also be helpful.

I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
