Legal Question in Family Law in California

bigamy

there is a indian born guy who married a u.s citizen and after 2-3 years he got his u.s citizenship, well now we have come to know that he has gone back to his home country and has married again without divorcing the first wife.

he plans to keep both as wives. is that legal?

what are the repercusions for him becuse its obvious to us now that he married the first girl to gain a u.s citizenship and he even has a child by her !!]
