Legal Question in Family Law in California

Bigamy

I was married in another state and then seperated, at which time my first husband was to file the final paperwork for our divorce, but did not.

I then remarried, and found out several years later about the first. I had the first marriage at that time annuled. I know the second was not legal and have since gone our seperate ways. What I need to know now is how do I handle legal questions in the future, such as buying a home, or what if I want to get married again some day?

Re: Bigamy

By having the first marriage annulled, you probably validated the second marriage. You should file for a dissolution or nullity of the second marriage and then you will have no future question about it, everything will be clear. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
