Legal Question in Family Law in California

bounced checks

My ex-husband has now written me two checks that have both bounced, this money he pays every month is for my son's medical reimbursment which is court ordered that he pay. What do I need to do in order to get this money collected from him as well as the fees that I am being charged by the bank?

Re: bounced checks

(A) Send him written notice, return receipt, following Ca. Civ Code 1719, and if he does not pay within 30 days sue him in small claims court; OR

(B) Turn the check over to the county prosecutor for collection. Some counties have good collection procedures, others hardly a thing, so inquire.
