Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was with my ex boyfriend for 6 years out of those six years hes left me and his children on and off.Our oldest child is 4 yrs old since then hes been in and out of jail cant hold a job .now hes getting out of jail in october and is fighting for visitation rights we have three kids and all together hes been their for about 2 years out of those 6 years he never supported or supports them maybe one box of diapers and one can of milk through out their whole life if we go to court will he get rights to see them.our kids are 4,1,and 2months oh and hes also has a substance abuse problem and each time he has left hes relapsed.

A professional monitor or someone you both agree to will be appointed to supervise the limited visitation time he will get. Be sure the court is aware of the substance abuse issues.
