my ex boyfriend's ex-wife wants to adopt our daughter

my ex's ex wife want's to adopt my daughter. my ex boyfriend is the father and has custody of our daughter but he no longer lives with her and i can't get ahold of him. his ex wife wants to adopt my daughter but i won't let that happen. is there anything i can do to stop the adoption and get custody of my daughter back at the same time or within the same time frame?
