Legal Question in Family Law in California
My boyfriend's mother is not letting me see my son.
I have recently left my boyfriend. I have two children from this relationship and when I left the police were there to escort me out. I was told by one of the policeman that I was only able to take my of my children so I did. After I left I made arrangements from time to time to see my son. I was very hard for me to see my son because my boyfriends mother does not like me and everytime I would go to pick up my son my ex-boyfriends mother would tell me that my son does not want to go with me and to not take him. My ex-boyfriends mother is poisoning my sons minds. She is making my son turn against me. She is putting ideas in his mind that I am a bad mother because I called the police when her son was choking me, trying to hurt me. My ex-boyfriend has been arrested for drunk driving and domestic violence. I would like to know if the court would consider any of this when considering who is to be the custodial parent.

Re: My boyfriend's mother is not letting me see my son.
Yes, the court would consider all of these things. Please see a lawyer before too much time goes on. It will be easier to re-establish visitation or get custody of your son if not too much time passes. If you can't afford to hire a lawyer, your local bar association has low and no-cost referral sources. In LA, the bar association phone number is (213) 627-2727. Good luck!
