Legal Question in Family Law in California

Breach of Contract involving Joint Account

In contemplation of marriage, I put her on my brokerage account, making it a joint account. Her part of the deal was to make me beneficiary on various accounts, and a domestic partner so I could get health benefits through her employer.

I believe she breached the contract when she removed my name from her accounts without my knowledge. She claims I owe her half the brokerage account, which only I contributed to, managed, etc. I believe that when she took me off her accounts, she was obligated to remove herself from my account.

Am I right?
